Wow Moments

WOW do you ever just have an moment where you are just like wow why am I just now realizing this, and now that you realize it you want it more than ever? Well over the past couple of weeks I have had several of these moments. People always ask “what you want to be when you grow up”, and I’ve always known I want to be a nurse, but over the past couple of years I have lost sight of my calling (yes calling I truly believe it is what God wants me to do with my life.) And I took some course really not caring or putting forth the effort I am capable of about them cause I was just so complacent with my life and self that I just didn’t care anymore and looking back now it is sad and pathetic I felt that way I am a 22 year old woman not living to my fullest potential, James told me one night that the woman he fell in love with was going somewhere with her life and had a drive and passion, I want to show him and myself that I am and Will go places and that I have that drive, I just had to almost hit bottom to look up and realize that though I am so glad I have James to love me and push me to be my best, and a couple of weeks ago James asked me “ Rachel, when are you going to decide what you are going to do with your life, cause you are just wasting time and your holding us back from our full potential, he said I have my career started and I want our future to me bright now it’s on you.” And I know he did not mean it in any negative way, I am actually glad he said it like he did It is what I needed to hear. So I began to pray that God would lead me to his calling for my life and pave the way. His calling for my life is nursing, I love to help people and I love taking care of them, and I know that without a shadow of doubt this is what He wants me to do with my life and use it to glorify his name. Well don’t pray for something and not expect for God to move and move big, and expect the devil to try to creep in and destroy what God is doing. With that being said, I lost my job at the end of June, I needless to say was devastated, the thoughts that filled my mind were, I am embarrassed, how we are going to make it, great now look at the burden I am and that I am causing. All of these thoughts were Satan trying to get in my head, I know God is faithful to his children and will provide. I told James and he helped me tell my family and they are the most supportive family I could have ever asked for. I began to pray knowing that God has a plan for me and he knows what the outcome of every situation is going to be before it even happens. I truly believe that this is God working in my life so I can whole heartedly focus on his calling for my life. I am more determined than ever to finish school and become a nurse so I can glorify God by being faithful to his calling as well as contributing to a successful income for James and me. I know this journey is not going to be easy and I know there are going to be challenges, even some will look at me as a selfish person for wanting to work part time and pursue my future career full time, but I am willing and ready to give it all I’ve got, I am ready for God to use me for the purpose I am here on this earth, I am ready and willing to be faithful to the call for my life, and I am going to give it everything I’ve got!

2012 So far...

2012... Wow we are over halfway through the year! Looking back at the first half of the year, James and I have had some great things happen! James started his career as a Deputy Sheriff with Orange county. We got pre-approved to buy our first house! (Which we are still on the hunt for that perfect house for us) We also just celebrated our second wedding anniversary on June 12!
